Vashon Presbyterian Church (VPC) traces its roots on the island to 1881 when a log school house first provided worship. The building was used by both the on-island Baptists and Methodists.
1909
The congregation builds its own building.
Early 1940s
The East Room is added.
1980s
A stained glass memorial window is purchased.
1984
VPC acquires a beautiful, antique pipe organ — still in use today.
1998
After many years of work and planning, the congregation votes to build an addition to the church and enlarge the parking lot.
Today
In addition to our congregation, we are happy to let community organizations use our facility. Some of the organizations include the Harbor School’s Carpe Diem, Vashon Co-op Baby Class, Vashon Chorale, various AA groups, the Vashon-Maury Hospital Board, IFCH meal program, and other smaller groups.
