Save the Date: Saturday, November 16 – Harvest Dinner

VPC’s annual pre-Thanksgiving feast is only three days away! This is always a fun event, featuring traditional Thanksgiving fare, along with your own family favorites that you provide.

This year, our entertainment director Lauretta Hyde will produce an original mini-play that is sure to bring you some chuckles if not outright guffaws. Don’t miss it! Feel free to invite family and friends – all are welcome!  Appetizers will be available at 5:30 pm; dinner following.

Faith Formation

Faith Exploration continues on Monday, November 18, at 5:00 pm on Zoom.

Although we certainly haven’t discussed every chapter in the book (The Fourth Quarter of Your Life), we probably have a pretty good idea of what we want to take away from it.

  • Are there things you now consider adding to or changing in your life and outlook?
  • Are there things you understand better?
  • Are there things you’d like to discuss further or relevant experiences you’d like to share?

We’d all like to hear from others to better understand our reactions. Hope to hear from you on Monday on Zoom!

Care Closet Open House

Vashon Care Network’s Care Closet will host an open house and free giveaway of medical equipment and supplies on Sunday, November 17, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The Care Closet is located on the Lutheran Church’s property.

They will have various types of walkers, canes, and crutches to give away as well as incontinence supplies, PPE, wipes, gloves, no-water shampoo and washcloths, and lots of specialty items. Everything is FREE. Come enjoy a cup of hot cider while you look for what you need!

Sanctuary Flowers

There is a sign-up sheet in the East Room for sanctuary flower donations for November and December. If you provide flowers as a memorial, please let the office staff know so that they can be included in the bulletin.
